I hired OT Bay Builders in March for a master bathroom remodel with a 4–5 week estimate. 5 months later it still isn't finished. No single explanation illness, emergencies, scheduling accounts for a timeline that ran five times over.
I came home from a day-long trip one night to find that someone on their crew had used our toilet and left it unflushed. That is what I walked into after being away. It set the tone for how this team treated my home, and it was not a one-off lapse so much as the clearest example of a pattern.
I was patient and respectful with this team throughout, and it was repaid with work that consistently needed to be done twice. Towel bars installed crooked. A hole drilled through a wall and left unpatched on the other side for four weeks despite repeated reminders. Grout I'm still being told to wait on. I shouldn't have had to inspect my own contractor's work this closely, but every time I stopped checking, something got missed.
The wrong valve was approved and installed, and correcting it meant demolishing finished tile and removing waterproofing components from the shower. I asked repeatedly, in writing, for the name of the sealant used and photos of the repair before it was tiled over. I never received either. When a manufacturer's technical team reviewed what I had, they confirmed they could not verify the repair from the documentation available because none exists. They also cut through a water line and flooded the inside of my shower wall.
They damaged my shower fixtures during removal, never reimbursed me for the replacement I bought myself, and the installer scheduled to return never came back. Commitments made and quietly dropped, messages unanswered for days, a promised punch list that never arrived.
Avoid at all cost. They over promise and under deliver.

Absolutely disgusting and pathetic customer service. I have never experienced such an unprofessional, rude, and shameless level of behavior from a customer support team.
I called the San Jose branch, and James answered the phone. His attitude was unbelievably rude, and he clearly has zero idea how to speak to or treat customers. When I asked to speak with Tom, the owner, he had the audacity to tell me, “I’m Tom.” What kind of pathetic joke is this?
I then called their second branch, where Tony answered. I explained that I wanted to speak with Tom because I needed to discuss James’s behavior. And then, unbelievably, he says, “I’m James.”
Are you people actually serious? Do you think customers are stupid enough to fall for this nonsense? First one person claims to be Tom, then another person claims to be James. This is not customer service — this is childish, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional behavior.
If your employees cannot even communicate honestly and respectfully with customers, they have absolutely no business dealing with the public. The arrogance and attitude were beyond unacceptable.
I strongly suggest management take a serious look at how this branch is being run, because this kind of behavior makes the entire company look cheap, dishonest, and completely incompetent. What an embarrassing experience.

We had a great experience working with Ron and his team from OT builder on our bathroom remodeling project (Master and Secondary bathroom). From start to finish, the entire experience exceeded our expectations.
Ron, was exceptional throughout the project. He was always available whenever we had questions or wanted to discuss changes, and he was very flexible in accommodating our requests. What we especially appreciated was his ability to suggest practical and cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality or the overall look we wanted to achieve. He listened carefully to our feedback and made sure our expectations were met at every stage.
One of the more challenging parts of our project was adding a new window with the proper permits. We had approached multiple vendors and contractors before without finding a good solution. Ron and the team went above and beyond to help us navigate the process, obtain the necessary permits, and ultimately make it happen. Also replaced tub with a walk-in shower in secondary bathroom.
The quality of the work and finishes has been impressive. The bathrooms turned out beautiful and were exactly what we had visualized—if not better. We were also particularly impressed with Aldo, who worked extensively on the project. He is extremely skilled, knowledgeable, and clearly takes pride in his work. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident throughout the finished space.
Overall, what stood out to us was the team's commitment to finding solutions and making our vision a reality. Ron made the entire process much easier with his responsiveness, flexibility, and focus on customer satisfaction, while Aldo and the team delivered excellent craftsmanship. OT Bay took over my renovation after my previous contractor left the project in a pretty difficult situation. After that experience, I was much more careful the second time around and interviewed more than a dozen contractors before deciding who to work with. OT Bay stood out from those interviews, and looking back, I’m very glad I chose them.
From the beginning, Tom was willing to work with me on terms that I was comfortable with, and communication throughout the project was very open and transparent. Whenever I stopped by the house, the crew was working, the job site was organized and clean, and everyone I interacted with was professional and polite.
One thing I especially appreciated was that whenever I asked Tom about the status of the project, he could tell me exactly where things stood, what had been completed, and what was coming next. There was very little ambiguity, which gave me a lot of confidence after what I had experienced before.
Tom was also very practical about solving problems instead of immediately turning every issue into an additional cost. One example was an uneven section of flooring. Rather than proposing an expensive solution, Tom came up with a clever way to use gravity and the existing conditions to gradually level it, and he took care of it without charging me anything extra. That really stood out to me.
Tom and his team were also proactive and responsive. They were attentive to my calls and texts, and when the city had comments during inspections, Tom addressed them quickly. The work passed the city’s inspections, and the corrections that came up were handled without creating unnecessary additional cost or delays.
Major renovations are never completely stress-free, especially when a contractor is taking over someone else’s unfinished work, but I was very happy with how OT Bay handled the project and with the quality of the finished work.
The strongest endorsement I can give is that I would hire Tom and OT Bay again, and I have already chosen to work with them on future projects.

We recently used OT Bay Builders to remodel our front bathroom. We had talked to a number of other remodeling contractors before talking to them. Most were at least a little cheaper. In our case, three things helped us make the decision, with two being different than almost anyone else we looked at. The first was the ratings for the quality of the workmanship. Consistent with the reviews, we were very happy with the quality of the work performed – this is definitely a “high-end” contractor. The second was the inclusion of full-service design in the package, which the others didn’t offer. They provide a designer that you work with, and visit showrooms with, to understand what you want both functionally and aesthetically. They create a 3-D rendering so you can see exactly what your bathroom will look like, and then you review it and make changes to the design until you have exactly what you want. They then create the materials ordering forms to get what’s needed for the project, and instructions for the construction workers. Most other contractors we talked to were looking for the home-owner to make the choices and effectively do the design themselves; none of the others offered either designer assistance in selecting the components or the rendering of what the finished product would look like to get your approval in advance. Finally, another key part of OT Bay’s value proposition was the work timeline. All other contractors quoted a 2-month timeline, although friends we talked to often had it extend to 3-4 months. This is common practice in order to improve labor efficiency, so that contractors always have jobs waiting for them and maximize revenue by being close to 100% booked (or over-booked). By contrast, OT Bay quoted a 4-week completion time. They have the same guys (who are OT Bay full-time employees) coming by and doing the work from 8:30am – 4:30pm every day, until the work is done. You don’t have strangers coming in at random times for months as you would for many other contractors. While it makes scheduling harder for OT Bay, we really valued minimizing the project completion time and the time our house was a “construction zone”. A few snags were encountered on the way, and it took an extra week, but we were very happy with how they kept things moving. They also have a project manager (Ron, in our case) who comes by almost every day to check on the project, and makes sure the homeowner is happy with each step of the work. At the end, we were very happy with the completed bathroom, which is beautiful, and has high-quality workmanship. We liked it so much, we signed a contract to remodel our other bathroom. Ok, so I am a seriously anal human being when it comes to finding the right service provider at the right price. I interviewed — and I kid you not — eight different Bay Area contractors just to get a feel for pricing, transparency, and overall vibe.
OT Bay stood out immediately.
Ron, our project manager, has been consistently honest, kind, and communicative from day one. There was no pressure or vague answers — just clear explanations and realistic expectations. That alone made a big difference for me.

OT Bay Builders did an amazing job on our bathroom. We had an extremely tight timeline, but they worked hard to get it done before the deadline. Even though it's a small space, it looks and feels like a luxury spa. From the chic tile, matte black finishes and custom storage cabinet, our designer Christina went above and beyond. We had her pick out a floating vanity herself, as we had no idea what would look good and we absolutely love what she chose!
The crew that worked on everything else was equally talented. The plumbing, electrical, tiling and finishing work was done with precision and expertise. Our rainfall shower and sprayers are amazing! The tile is absolute perfection.
We ran into some water damage from years of neglect from previous owners; this was no problem for OT Bay Builders. They replaced the damaged framing and stucco in a few days, like it never happened.
Ron, our project manager, was there to oversee the work and kept us informed daily of what was going on, he was there for every step and offered solutions when small problems did arise.

I hired OT Bay Builders to extend an existing landing so that it could service the existing back door and a second one I added. Tyler was the project manager and from the time he arrived to give me the estimate to the time the project was 100% complete he provided excellent customer service. He was super responsive and always punctual. The crew that did the actual work were also great. They listened to exactly what I wanted and executed flawlessly. I had very specific instructions on how it needed to be done to ensure it passed inspections and both inspections passed on the first attempt. I'm very happy with the final result and even happier that it was at a great price.

I hired OT Bay Builders to do a complete remodel of a condo in Palo Alto. They are simply excellent. A++. I have very high standards and am very difficult to please, but all my expectations were met and exceeded. The quality of work is just phenomenal and I felt every penny was well spent.
OT Bay Builders is an outstanding team. I am lucky to have both Omer and Tom as my project managers. Omer is a very honest person and really knows what he's doing. Tom is a good communicator and always picks up the phone. Most importantly they take full ownership and responsibility of their work. If problems arise, they are resolved to the client's satisfaction.
Breanna, the office manager is fantastic. She did all the paperwork accurately, helped getting the permit from the City of Palo Alto very quickly and scheduled all the necessary inspections.
The construction workers are also remarkable. To name a few: Luis, Sergio, Alejandro and Juve. Excellent craftsmanship, very polite and friendly, always cleaning up after work.
Overall I can't be more happy with the outcome. The condo looks absolutely amazing. To hire OT Bay Builders is definitely one of the best decisions I made. I highly highly recommend them.

I had a terrific experience with his company. They were a one stop shop for me for dry rot siding and fireplace, new deck and painting. I was given a great price. I can't complain at all. I forgot some additional spots on my home so I'll be calling them again. They were on time for completion too! I did some walk throughs periodically (no one knows your home and pet peeves like the owner does!). This was very helpful for them too! I totally recommend them.
